This course is for those who wish to start an enterprise or business as an artist, designer or maker and who are seeking to develop their creative skills to a professional level.
We will guide you through your first steps towards becoming a practicing professional via on-course projects. Our aim is to equip you with basic business & IT skills, help you develop creative & critical thinking skills and develop your confidence & motivation.
You will learn enterprise and business skills, experience a work placement, exhibition or show & develop your own artists website.
You will be taught by a team of tutors who are all practicing artists. There will also be talks and discussions with visiting artists, visits to galleries & shows to talk to curators & organisers and other opportunities for networking.
There will be opportunities to work alongside artists and designer-makers. Current students have placements at Cockpit Arts, Kings Place & Pangolin Gallery, British Museum & other arts organisations.
By the end of the course you will have made your first steps towards becoming a professional in your area of creative Arts practice.
