Student Art & Craft Exhibition

12 January to 7 March 2009

This is an open submission to all students, the exhibition represents all the Arts & Craft courses at Mary Ward. Majority of courses accommodate all levels of ability and experience. This mix contributes to a rich learning environment where experienced and inexperienced students learn from each other and from the diversity of projects and activities. The work is exhibited on both stairways.

The cafe is exhibiting the community arts work we have been involved in. The Bangla Ghor is based on the idea of designing and constructing a traditional rural house from Bangladesh, with its impression of straw thatch roof. Side panels are based on four themes – Celebrations, Transport, the garden and cooking & eating. The concept highlights many aspects in Bengali culture which make Bangladesh such a unique and colourful country.
