Workforce Development: Opportunities for Colleges and the Voluntary & Community Sector to work together
Workforce Development is about providing training for staff and volunteers to improve their skills and knowledge. It’s increasingly important given the changing funding climate and the increasing role of the Voluntary & Community Sector (VCS) in delivering public services.
Investing in workforce development has many benefits – it increases the skills and abilities of our staff and volunteers to respond to new ways of working; it raises staff morale and leads to greater staff retention; and it enhances the career progression of VCS staff.
