South Islington Mothers’ and Babies’ Fund
The Mary Ward Settlement is the sole Trustee of the South Islington Mothers’ and Babies’ Fund. The fund helps mothers with infants and young children who live in the South Islington area or the Kings Cross and High Holborn areas of Camden. Grants are administered on an on-going basis by a Panel which considers applications from referral agencies on behalf of individual mothers. The maximum time it will take the Panel to reach a decision on an application is 28 days. The fund is small, and individual grants are for no more than £250.
How to apply: Applications must be made by a referral agent such as a health visitor or a social worker (they will not be accepted direct from mothers) and must be on the SIMBF application form. The referral agent must ensure that the client meets the criteria set out in the Terms of Reference and lives within the prescribed geographical area. Please read the guidelines before submitting an application and refer to the tariff for amounts that may be claimed for specific items. Applications should be sent to: The Fund Coordinator, SIMBF, c/o The Mary Ward Centre, 42 Queen Square, London WC1N 3AQ.
