College Suspension

Letter from the Warden

Sadly I am writing to tell you that we have decided to suspend face to face classes from 17th of March to the end of term. If you are taking a qualification courses or an ESOL course we will be in touch with you separately to let you know the arrangements we are making for you.

Over the last few days I have been in conversation with various external bodies, the other London Adult Colleges and with staff and students here at Mary Ward. As result of these conversations and taking into consideration the guidance on self, isolation, social distancing and reduced use of public transport this decision seemed the best action I could take to support the health and wellbeing of the Mary Ward community.

We know that we are an important part of many people’s lives and we will reinstate classes as soon as we are able and work flexibly into the summer to ensure you have access to the courses you love. Our current plan is to start our summer term two weeks later than usual on the week beginning the 11th of May and run a normal 12 week programme of courses. We will keep you updated of any change to that plan.

The new dates for our summer term courses will be on the website very soon. I am sure many of you have questions about the changes we are making and I ask you to bear with us as we work through the impact and staff work to put changes in place.

Please continue to check the website for information

Thanks you for your support and understanding

Suzanna Jackson

Warden
