Art Foundations And APAD Open Day
Are you interested in studying art in more depth or to work towards an Arts Qualification? This Open Day is an important part of the Arts Qualification application, it will help students find out more about each course and guide them through the process. The day will include an introduction to all the courses and the tutors, creative workshops, advice and guidance about all the courses and funding the place. Students can also sign up for an interview on the day.
Who is this course for
The Art Open Day is for all students who are interested in studying art in more depth or to work towards an Arts Qualification on one of our 3 progression course - Pre Foundation, Foundation and Advanced Creative Practice. It will help students understand which course is best for them and gain a better understanding of how we run them, as well as meeting our tutors.
It is also open to all students who would like to explore enjoyable art workshops for a full day.

What does this course cover
This will be a fun creative day, led by Pre Foundation, Foundation and Advanced Creative Practice course tutors.
The day will start at 10am with a short introduction to the courses, followed by signing up for the creative workshops run by the tutors.
The workshops will run from 10.30-12.30- and 1.30-3.30
Students can either chose Pre Foundation, Foundation and Advanced Creative Practice level or try any of the workshops if they are not sure which one would suit them best.
From 3.30-4.30, there will be a presentation on funding your course followed by informal advice and guidance sessions, with an opportunity to talk to tutors and staff about any queries.
The £50 cost of the Arts Open Day can be taken off the cost of any course when students enrol. Bursary funding is also available for the cost of the Arts Open Day.
What will it be like
The day will be structured with talks, creative workshops and advice sessions. Tutors and staff will be on hand to answer questions during the day and students will get an idea of how each of the Arts progression course runs, which course would suit them best and the application process.
What else do you need to buy or do
Bring note book or sketchbook, pen and your diary to book in your interview time. Please don't bring your portfolio - informal interviews will be arranged on the day and you will have your opportunity to show your work then.
What this course could lead to
This day can lead into students signing up for a Pre foundation, Foundation and Apad interview on the day. If the interview is successful, it can lead to being offered a place on a course. It can also lead to applying for student loans and funding for the courses.
