Award In Mentoring Skills

This qualification allows you to understand the role of a mentor and be aware of the skills
needed to become an effective mentor. The aims of the qualification are to help you to: gain insight into the role and practice of mentorship, be clear about mentor/mentee relationships, ensure good practice is followed, be aware of the specific skills and understanding required in order to mentor, review learning and work performance. This is a qualification course that aims to equip team leaders and aspiring first time managers with the skills and knowledge to understand and undertake effective mentoring to aid personal development. It will enable you to move into supervisory and management roles later with greater ease. The two course units will help you to develop an understanding of the role and nature of mentoring and also enable you to undertake mentoring to reflect on your performance and identify areas for improvement.

Who is this course for

What will it be like

Demonstration using Smartboard through computer-linked projectors, exposition and discussion. One-to-one and Group work. Students will produce a portfolio of work during the course to be assessed and verified in order to achieve the qualification.
