Beginners Qualification In Using IT Level 1 (ITQ)

The aim of this course is to make sure that students start or become more confident with using computers and IT, and gain a nationally recognised qualification. There are no examinations so as you gain confidence you are assessed on the practical and understandable exercises you complete on the course. We aim to make sure that language is not a barrier to you getting started using computers and software in your personal, educational or working life. Up-to-date Microsoft Office programs are the applications you will use. Upon successful completion you will receive the NOCN Award in IT User Skills (ITQ). Students may wish to enrol on the next ECDLITQ Level 2 course at the same time or after completion.

Previous Experience Required

This qualification is a starting point for beginner students. You may have done a course for beginners or have that level of computer skills. It is tutor-led throughout and is designed to build confidence and recognise computing skills, knowledge and understanding. It equips learners with the basic range of transferable skills for the modern workplace.
Students may wish to enrol on the next ECDL Extra Level 2 Certificate course at the same time, or after completion.

Course Content

On this course you will be taught three units. There are no examinations as you build a portfolio of evidence. The units are File Management and e-document production using Word, Creating Spreadsheets and Graphs using Excel and Presentation Graphics using PowerPoint.
