Building Confidence Through Improvisation

Do you suffer from anxiety or low self-esteem? Perhaps you have a habit of being self-critical or you lack confidence. This two-day course uses improvisation to boost self-esteem and confidence and will help you to feel more positive both outwardly and inside. Expect lots of tricks and tips on how to feel and be more outgoing, charismatic and generally positive.

Who is this course for

This course is for anyone who needs a confidence boost. You might have been out of work for a while or have suffered a bereavement. Sometimes people have long-term low self-esteem or might be working through anxiety issues. No improvisation skills or experience are necessary - the tutor is expert at going at the pace of the group.

What does this course cover

Course Content:
This course uses improvisation to activate greater self-esteem and confidence in participants and aims to reduce participant anxiety.

By the end of the course, students will be able to play some improv games and will feel more comfortable in a group. They will be more aware of the power of eye contact. They will feel more relaxed in conversation.

Learning Objective:
To feel generally more confident and less self-doubting.

What will it be like

Teaching methods will be improvisation games and exercises and various theatre- and business-related tools that create positive engagement. The tutor uses a number of academic and social science theories to underpin their work.

Assessments will be relaxed and positive. We will chart engagement, positive participation and some soft skills but there will be no formal tests or written feedback.
