This short course will give you an understanding of the difference between coaching and mentoring, then illustrate the use of coaching and mentoring models and how to put theory into practice.

Who is this course for
This short Coaching and Mentoring Course is for people wishing to develop their coaching or mentoring skills at a beginners/introductory level. It aims to give students a clear idea and understanding of the dynamics that happen between people when they work one-to-one. It prepares students for the Award in Mentoring Skills qualification course.
Please note that the Thursday Afternoon courses 5453B and 5454B will take place at Blackfriars Settlement, 1 Rushworth Street, London SE1 ORB
This a new Mary Ward Centre location and is a short walk from Southwark Tube Station
What does this course cover
Areas covered during the course include understanding of the difference between coaching & mentoring; use of coaching & mentoring models; putting theory into practice.
What will it be like
Coaching & Mentoring definitions will be examined through group discussion and presentation. The difference between Coaching & Mentoring will then be looked at. Following that students will use active listening and questioning techniques to look at Coaching & Mentoring Practice, Coaching models and Coaching model in practice.
What else do you need to buy or do
Pen and paper, together with a curious and open mind are the only requirements
