for at least 2 years, and students who are studying
at a level 3 and above

Who is this course for

The course is for students who have studied French for at least 2 years, and students who are currently studying at a level 3 and above.

What does this course cover

The course is aimed at understanding better spoken French, getting the most out of spoken texts and conversations. It aims at encouraging students to explore more authentic materials (news, films)
By the end of the course, students should be able to identify the main points of a longer news report or conversation. The workshop will help students improve their listening skills.
students will:
- Understand the contractions in spoken French and improve oral comprehension.
- Have more strategies to pinpoint essential information in a conversation and develop their listening skills outside the lesson.
- Improve their confidence when speaking French.

What will it be like

The course will be based on:
- A great interaction between students.
- Pair work and group work.
- Listening activities.
- Authentic material.
Your progress will be assessed throughout the course by your tutor and at the end of the course

What else do you need to buy or do

Students will be encouraged to do some extra study at home to develop what will be covered during the sessions. A moodle course will provided in case of absence (you will find the documents and some material from the lessons), and to reinforce and extend the contents of the lesson.

What this course could lead to

This workshop is intended to help students develop their listening skills, and increase their confidence when interacting with French-speaking natives.
