Employability Skills

This course starts with Interview Skills and the opportunity to take part in a mock interview. This will to ensure that you are fully prepared when you take the first step in applying for a new job. The course then moves on to themed classes designed to equip you will the skills to successfully perform in a workplace environment. You can expect to develop skills in areas as such a time-management, communication, customer service and team work.

Who is this course for

Those enrolling, may be individuals who are entering the workplace for the first-time in this country, those looking to brush up their skills and confidence after returning to work after an absence or people taking the next step from full time education.

' Presentation skills

' Working with colleagues

What will it be like

The course will include tutor presentations aided by a 'smart' board, individual and group activities and personal presentations. Students will receive individual support and be encouraged to contribute to a friendly and supportive learning environment.

Teaching methods: Visual demonstration and verbal explanation. Written handouts with visual diagrams. One-to-one teaching. Group discussions.
Learning methods: Hands-on practical activities, Reading handouts and following instructions.
One-to-one and group discussion.

What else do you need to buy or do

Students should bring paper, pens, and a folder for coursework and class handouts. There will be weekly homework tasks.

After this course there ay be an opportunity to take the course at a higher accredited level or you may want to explore vocational courses that will help steer your career options.
