Fused Glass Christmas Decorations

Who is this course for
This course is for beginners or those with some glass experience who wish to create some festive wonders in glass. This is a short introductory weekend course for those who want to learn more about fused glass - melting glass together in a kiln. You will learn to cut glass and the basic principles of glass fusing.
What does this course cover
The course will introduce students to basic fusing techniques within glass. You will learn to cut straight lines and curves and make a glass Christmas bauble, a garland and a glass star, and also have an opportunity to design your own decoration if you wish to. We will look at lots of samples and materials and briefly go through firing schedules.
What you should be able to do by the end of the course:
1. Have a basic understanding of fusing techniques.
2. Demonstrate how to safely cut glass
3. Have made several Christmas decorations

The teaching and learning methods we use on the course:
The techniques are taught by demonstrations and images. I also have lots of samples to illustrate different processes and handouts.
How we assess your progress on the course:
We'll have an informal chat about the work produced on day one, and go through any questions that may arise.
