Fused Glass Jewellery
This course will combine glass and jewellery making techniques to help you create individual pieces to your own design. The first week will be to create small fused glass pieces and the second week will use basic Jewellery skills to make them up into final pieces. Suitable for students of any level.
Who is this course for
This course is for beginners or those with some experience in either skill who wish to combine glass and jewellery making techniques. You will learn to cut glass and the basic principles of glass fusing, as well as simple jewellery making techniques.
What does this course cover
The course will introduce students to basic fusing techniques within glass as well as giving you skills needed to make a simple ring or brooch. We will look at lots of samples and materials and briefly go through firing schedules.
What you should be able to do by the end of the course:
1. Have a basic understanding of fusing techniques.
2. Have a basic understanding of some jewellery making techniques.
2. Demonstrate health and safety practices.
3. Have made an item of jewellery.

The techniques are taught by demonstrations and images. I also have lots of samples to illustrate different processes and handouts.
How we assess your progress on the course:
We'll have an informal chat about the work produced on day one, and go through any questions that may arise.
