Indian Head Massage with Oils

This introductory course is designed to enable learners to gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills, in order to provide a safe and effective Indian Head Massage treatment with the use of traditional and therapeutic hair oils on family and friends.

Who is this course for

This is an introductory course and no previous experience is necessary.
Students need to be able to follow verbal instructions and extract information from handouts.
The course is open to both men and women and students are required to work with others in the group to give and receive massage.

Benefits of Indian Head Massage
Safety guidelines to Indian Head Massage
Traditional Hair oils and their uses
Essential oils and herbs beneficial for skin, hair and scalp care
By the end of the course students will be able to: Perform an Indian Head Massage on friends and family, - Have an insight into the history of Indian Head Massage, - Recognise the benefits of Indian Head Massage, - Recognise when not to massage, - Recognise the benefits and uses of traditional herbal infused hair oils, - Prepare their own hair oil using herbs and essential oils

What will it be like

Lecture / PowerPoint presentation, discussion, small group work, questions and answers
Practical: Students will work in pairs massaging each other, facilitated by the tutor verbally, through demonstration and direct hands-on.
You will receive regular verbal feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. Self-assessment test in last lesson. At the end of the course you will be ask to complete a course evaluation form.

What else do you need to buy or do

No additional costs, all materials will be provided. Please wear flat shoes and comfortable clothing, maybe a cotton t-shirt to change into.
