Intro to Adobe Creative Suite

Try out Photoshop for images, Illustrator for design, Dreamweaver for websites, InDesign for desktop publishing and PowerPoint for presentations. Take a short tour of each of the digital media programs that appear in this section. Find out what they do and who uses them so you can choose which ones suit your needs for employment or personal use and progress to specialist courses.

Who is this course for

Do you want to get started in Photoshop? Illustrator? InDesign? PowerPoint? Dreamweaver? This course is for you if you want to learn a little about all of these programs and which of them suit your needs.

What does this course cover

Includes an introduction to the use of Dreamweaver for web design, Photoshop for manipulating graphics, Illustrator for graphic illustration, InDesign for desktop publishing and PowerPoint for slideshows and presentation.

What will it be like

Demonstration using Smartboard through computer-linked projectors, exposition and discussion. One-to-one and Group work. Through tutor-guidance and hands-on experience, the completion of the course objectives.
Ongoing monitoring of students' work including questions, observation and tasks. Start and End of class student self-assessment/achievement tick sheet.

What else do you need to buy or do

Materials are supplied free of charge by the Centre.
As much practice as possible to reinforce learning. This may be at home or elsewhere or from homework given by the tutor.

Get a taste of all these programs - Dreamweaver and Photoshop and Illustrator and InDesign and PowerPoint. This course will enable you to make an easy choice of which digital and creative media programs you might want to study further.
