Introduction To Sculpture
New weekend course to introduce students to working in our sculpture studio and in 3 dimensions. Find out more about what we do, which materials we use and what you can study, in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
Who is this course for
This course is designed to bring inexperienced and unconfident students up to speed in a selection simple sculpting techniques.
What does this course cover
This workshop will give students a basic knowledge in the areas of Clay Modelling and Glazing as well as Health and Safety/Studio Practice. All in enough depth for students to feel like they're not starting from scratch when they attend future sculpture making classes.
What will it be like
Individual tuition and group work.
Practical demonstrations will be given.
Assessment is ongoing and based on tutor observations.
The tutor will look at understanding of technical and aesthetic processes in relation to your discussed aims.
Verbal feedback is given throughout class time on a one-to-one basis.
What else do you need to buy or do
Students should wear stout shoes and bring an apron or old shirt as sculpture can be messy and dusty.
Most basic materials are included.
