Line Dancing Group

This is a teach-yourself group where members help each other to learn the steps assisted by a volunteer facilitator.

Who is this course for

Anyone over the age of 60 who has an interest in line dancing. This is a physical activity so anyone who has mobility problems should try out the course before enrolling. However it is not fast and furious so do not be put off trying.

What does this course cover

This is an untutored course. Students learn together with the aid of a video. A variety of line dances are learned by the group during each term and each session has a variety of new dances and old favourites.
By the end of the course group members will have:
Learned a variety of line dance steps
Developed these steps to form at least 3 dances

Each term group members may also find that the activity helps to improve their memory, co-ordination and stamina

What will it be like

The group is untutored and learns together with the aid of instructional videos
Students assess their own learning informally

What else do you need to buy or do

Comfortable shoes, with a smooth sole.
None is expected but practise makes perfect.

What this course could lead to

The centre has a number of tutored dance and fitness classes including Dancing for Pleasure and Circle Dances from around the world
