New: Introduction To Shiatsu
This course will give you an introduction to shiatsu massage, teaching you enough technique to give a relaxing massage for family and friends.

Shiatsu is a mat based treatment based on the ancient Japanese belief system of balancing the body throught pressure point massage which can tonify they body, drain toxins and boost your overall health. Students are fully clothed. This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in learning about Shiatsu massage. No previous experience needed, although it may be of interest to students who have already done body work courses and wish to further their knowledge in complementary therapies. Students should feel comfortable working on mats on the floor
What does this course cover
The course teaches: basic positions, correct use of the weight of the body, hand positions, basic points on which to press, basic sequence, and contraindications.
By the end of the course, students will be able to give a basic relaxing shiatsu massage to family and friends covering the back, the arms and legs and the head.
What will it be like
Learning is mosty practical, with a hands-on approach in which students are taught the correct use of body and hands to give a Shiatsu treatment. You will work in pairs with other students in the group and progress is assessed continuously, either by verbal instruction or hands-on demonstration. Students are fully clothed during treatment.
What else do you need to buy or do
Please wear loose comfortable clothing. At home, you may want to have a futon or foam mattress to practice on.
