New: Leadership, Obedience And Group Dynamics

Why was Hitler so enthralling? Why do everyday people do things completely against their and social norms when told to be a voice in authority? What do people look for in a good leader and how do we define what makes a good leader? What does obedience mean in modern times and can every individual in society be made to follow? Looking at some classic principles in social psychology, Zimbardos classic prison study for example, we will explore how people behave in group situations. We will learn more about Milgrams fascinating study, devised to examine if Eichmann and his accomplices were just following orders and how our expectations of people impact on their behaviour.
