New : MS Office: Pro
This course is a follow-on to the MS Office User course. You will be introduced to MS PowerPoint and learn how to use advanced features in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Thus, enabling you to create effective and high-impact documents, spreadsheets or presentations for both work and personal use.
Who is this course for
This is a course is intended for people who have completed the MS Office: User course or who are experienced MS Office users.
What does this course cover
The course will cover the basics of MS PowerPoint and using the advanced features in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, such advanced formatting, creating tables of contents, mail merge, creating and formatting charts/diagrams, filtering and sorting data, using audio and video files and integrating data.
By the end of the course you should be able to:
1. Create, view, save and print presentations using PowerPoint.
2. Apply advanced formatting, create charts and use audio and video files in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
3. Create tables of contents, indexes and cross-references and perform a mail merge in Word.
4. Use advanced functions and filter and sort data in a spreadsheet.
5. Use linking and embedding features to integrate data.
6. Use Help and shortcuts in MS Office.
What will it be like
The course will be delivered using lots of practical activities, group work, discussions and demonstrations.
Teaching methods: Visual demonstration and verbal explanation. Written handouts with visual diagrams. One-to-one teaching. Group discussions
Learning methods: Hands-on practical activities, Reading handouts and following instructions.
One-to-one and group discussion.
How students are assessed: Questions and answers during group discussions and one-to-one teaching.
Record of students' progress and achievement on an assessment sheet as they achieve the course objectives. Practical work produced is evidence of learning.
What else do you need to buy or do
Students will need to bring a pen, notebook, folder for handouts and USB stick to save your work. Practice at home is recommended, but it is not compulsory.
What this course could lead to
On completion of this course, students can progress to an accredited MS Office course. Your tutor can advice.
