New : MS Office: User
This course is a follow-on to the MS Office Intro course. Now that you have mastered the basics of MS Office, it is time to start using MS Word and MS Excel to accomplish everyday tasks like creating letters, reports and budgets.
Who is this course for
This course is intended for students who have completed the MS Office Intro course or already have some experience using MS Office. You must be confident and experienced in using a computer, keyboard and mouse.
What does this course cover
The course will cover using MS Word and MS Excel to create a variety of documents and spreadsheets required for work or home.
By the end of the course you should be able to:
1. Create, save and print Word documents.
2. Apply different formats and insert tables, pictures and objects to enhance Word documents.
3. Create, save and print Excel spreadsheets and workbooks.
4. Enter, select, sort, copy, move, delete and format data in a spreadsheet
5. Use functions and the autofill feature in a spreadsheet.
6. Use Help and shortcuts in MS Office.
What will it be like
The course will be delivered using lots of practical activities, group work, discussions and demonstrations.
Teaching methods: Visual demonstration and verbal explanation. Written handouts with visual diagrams. One-to-one teaching. Group discussions
Learning methods: Hands-on practical activities, Reading handouts and following instructions.
One-to-one and group discussion.
How students are assessed: Questions and answers during group discussions and one-to-one teaching.
Record of students' progress and achievement on an assessment sheet as they achieve the course objectives. Practical work produced is evidence of learning.
What else do you need to buy or do
Students will need to bring a pen, notebook, folder for handouts and USB stick to save your work. Practice at home is recommended, but it is not compulsory.
What this course could lead to
On completion of this course, students can progress onto MS Office Pro - 12 weeks.
