New : Using Tablets to Create Artwork
This course is for students who have a drawing tablet, I Pad Pro or touch screen laptop that is suitable to design and create artwork on using a stylus and Design Apps. This course covers the good Design App to use, how they work and the best way to use them for your devise or style of artwork. Students will need to bring their Ipad pro, drawing tablet, or touchscreen laptop and stylus pen to the course.
Who is this course for
Do you want to take existing artwork into the digital medium and learning various ways to expand and enhance it? Or learn how to create new work on your tablet and use it to its full potential?
This course is suitable for students who own a drawing tablet, I Pad Pro or touch screen laptop that is suitable to design and create artwork on using a stylus and Design Apps.
Students must be comfortable using tablets and have some drawing experience. This course is not suitable for those who are not computer literate.
What does this course cover
This short course aims to give students a broad understanding of what app are available to use to draw and create artwork on a tablet. It will cover how tablets and pens function best, creating new artwork and adapting existing images or artwork.
By the end of the course you should be able to:
1. Select and download suitable apps to work on your ipad or tablet
2. Learn how to use tools, and the stylus pen to create images
3. Learn how to use adapt images
4. Learn how to use export images
What will it be like
Teaching methods: Visual demonstration and verbal explanation. Written handouts with visual diagrams. One-to-one teaching. Group discussions
Learning methods: Hands-on practical activities, Reading handouts and following instructions.
One-to-one and group discussion.
How students are assessed: Questions and answers during group discussions and one-to-one teaching.
Record of students' progress and achievement on an assessment sheet as they achieve the course objectives. Practical work produced is evidence of learning.
What else do you need to buy or do
Students will need to bring their Ipad pro, drawing tablet, or touchscreen laptop and stylus pen to the course.
You can also bring your artwork and drawings to scan in and other content to work on. Homework will be suggested between classes.

Students who complete this course may be interested in other illustration, computing and general arts courses held at the college.
