Photoshop Introduction with Photography
Start here to make the most of your point-and-click digital camera. Bring it to each session and improve on your photography skills to become familiar with all the features offered. As you progress you will start to use Photoshop to manipulate your photos and images. This course is aimed at students with easy-to-use point-and-click cameras. The follow-on course covers DSLR cameras and there are longer photoshop courses to chose from.
Who is this course for
This course does not deal with the use of the more complex DSLR camera. It is aimed at students who wish to make better or more complete use of a 'point-and-click' camera. You will need to have your own camera.
Please note that if you are more than 30 minutes late for your course the tutor can not let you start as it disrupts the learning of the other students
What does this course cover
Work on a range of projects that will help you explore ideas and develop skills and techniques.
Use your own digital camera
You will use Photoshop software to manipulate you images to develop ideas.+
Be able to produce high quality photographs using your own digital camera
Manipulate images using Photoshop software
Have learned new skills & techniques
Have explored and developed creative ideas+
What will it be like
Demonstration using Smartboard through computer-linked projectors, exposition and discussion. One-to-one and Group work. Through tutor-guidance and hands-on experience, the completion of the course objectives.+ Ongoing monitoring of students' work including questions, observation and tasks. Start and End of class student self-assessment/achievement tick sheet
What else do you need to buy or do
Materials are supplied free of charge by the Centre.
You will need:
A memory storage stick would be useful.+
As much practice as possible to reinforce learning. This may be at home or elsewhere or from homework given by the tutor. Students may also wish to attend the daily Open Access computer sessions at the Centre which are free and have a tutor present to assist students

Photography -Digital SLR Introduction course. Photoshop, Illustrator or Desktop Publishing course InDesign.
Develop your camera skills further: tutor will advise.
