This short course covers all you need to know about creating slide shows, notes and audience handouts, slide masters, templates, transitions, animation, organisation chart, inserting movies and sound plus other specialist features.

Who is this course for

This course is for people who may need to learn to use this program to create computerised slide shows or overheads for projection using this widely-used program. It is universally used in business. Experience of working with Windows and File Management is essential.

Please note that if you are more than 30 minutes late for your course the tutor can not let you start as it disrupts the learning of the other students

What does this course cover

PowerPoint is the software program for creating presentations. It is the 'Presentation Graphics' program that is widely used commercially. This course provides the student with a knowledge of the features of PowerPoint and is ideal for students who wish to pursue a career in office computing.+

What will it be like

Demonstration using Smartboard through computer-linked projectors, exposition and discussion. One-to-one and Group work. Through tutor-guidance and hands-on experience, the completion of the course objectives.+ Ongoing monitoring of students' work including questions, observation and tasks. Start and End of class student self-assessment/achievement tick sheet.

What else do you need to buy or do

Materials are supplied free of charge by the Centre.+ As much practice as possible to reinforce learning. This may be at home or elsewhere or from homework given by the tutor.

A Qualification course at the Centre - Beginners IT Qualification Level 1 or ECDL/ITQ Level 2 the European Computer Driving License
