Reading For Pleasure
Do you want to practice your Reading skills? This course is for Entry I & Entry 2 ESOL students who wish to improve their Reading skills in English. During this course, students will focus on reading different types of texts including fiction, current affairs, autobiography and biography. This course aims to increase students' confidence and enjoyment in Reading.
Who is this course for
This course is for Entry 1 & Entry 2 ESOL students who want to work on their reading skills.
What does this course cover
We will work on Reading skills, learning new words and looking at differnt kinds of texts.
By the end of the course, students will be able to find books from the Graded Reader Series, for free, from their local Libraries and read simple books more easily.
What will it be like
We will look at different books:
(1) A text by an ESOL student about their journey of moving to the UK. The writer will talk about learning English and making a new life for themselves in the UK.
(2) A text about a famous person (for example, Malala, Barack Obama or Nelson Mandela).
(3) A traditional story whihc students will choose.
(4) A classic story from the UK.
(5) Texts about the news
What else do you need to buy or do
A pen and paper.
