Sculpture From The Life Model
Introduction to different techniques that can be used to creates sculpture from a life model. Try out different techniques such as terracotta, direct plaster or other processes. Accessible to all people regardless of age and ability and aimed particularly at those with an interest in working with the human form as a focus.
Who is this course for
The course is for students interested in life modelling, particularly those wanting to spend more time on detailed anatomy, and to improve their ability to model faces, hands and feet. Provision is made for less experienced students wishing to learn the various techniques contained in the course.
What does this course cover
The aim of this course is to understand the basic anatomy and 3D form of faces, hands and feet. You will be working from observation with a model and to reproduce in 3D. You will be able to model in clay.
What will it be like
Verbal feedback is given throughout classes on a one to one basis to help you develop technical and aesthetic processes. The tutor may also work alongside the students in order to demonstrate modelling techniques.
At the end of the class we may discuss the projects as a group. Verbal feedback will be given by the tutor.
What else do you need to buy or do
Basic materials and equipment are supplied, including firing of work. Students may want to bring their own modelling tools.
