Strength And Body Conditioning
The NHS recommends that all adults should undertake some form of muscle strengthening activity twice a week, yet (short of pumping iron in a gym) few of us know where to start. Through a series of bodyweight exercises you will learn how, with little or no equipment, you can gain the functional benefits and overall improvements in health, fitness and wellbeing that strength training can provide. Adapted for all levels, so beginners welcome!
Who is this course for
The course is open to all, regardless of existing level of strength and fitness. Beginners are welcome! We will, however, ask you to complete a health questionnaire at the start of the course, and students with certain medical conditions (for example, heart problems) may be advised to consult their GP before proceeding with the course, or advised that another course may be more suitable.
What does this course cover
The course will teach you how, with minimal equipment, you can improve your strength and fitness levels through a series of enjoyable exercises. The focus will be on steadily improving your strength, regardless of base level (all exercises are adaptable to existing levels) and on enabling you to learn proper technique to achieve maximum benefit in a safe way.
What will it be like
You will work individually or in pairs following the tutors instructions and move from station to station on exercises that will work different parts of the body.
What else do you need to buy or do
Wear clothing and traininers suitable for exercise, and you may like to bring a towel and water bottle. All equipment is provided in the class.
