Silver Clay Jewellery Taster

Explore a range of techniques to start creating jewellery with silver clay, a versatile material that is fun to use to create solid silver jewellery from home. You will learn how to shape, refine and complete your own unique silver jewellery pieces.

Silver clay is a clever material, made from particles of pure silver mixed with a binder to form a clay like substance that can be modelled, carved and moulded, then refined and fired to burn away the binder, leaving a pure solid silver item. It gives more options for jewellers to bring their ideas to life and requires fewer large and specialist tools so is more practical to work with at home than traditional metalwork.

Ideal for complete beginners and those with some other jewellery experience wishing to broaden their skills.

Beautiful Beading

Learn a range of techniques and designs to make your own beaded jewellery. Each term will have a mix of different projects and students will be encouraged to create a variety of different styles of bead jewellery.

Each term will include bead stringing – learning to make gorgeous necklaces or bracelets and securely finish the ends and add a clasp, as well as looking at other varied skills including using wire or chain to connect bead elements in different ways, using cords in macramé or Kumihimo (braiding) designs and stitched beadwork – using needle and thread to create intricate bead woven designs.

Each term will offer a new series of set projects where students will be able to learn and practice a range of techniques, and beginners are welcome to join the course in any term
