New Mary Ward Settlement Student Trustee

Following the recent ballot, we are pleased to announce that students have elected Kate Watters as the new student trustee on the Mary Ward Settlement Integrated Board.  Kate is a lifelong learner and long-time supporter of Mary Ward’s mission and values and currently takes Creative Arts classes at the Centre.  She will attend her first Board meeting on 3rd March.  Congratulations Kate!

On 14 October a special reception was held at the House of Commons to celebrate the work of Special Designated Institutions* (SDIs). Three Baronesses (Gillian Shephard, Janet Whitaker and Sue Garden) hosted the event, and Nick Boles, Minister of State jointly for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department for Education, spoke warmly of the work of the SDIs and the great value to society of the educational opportunities they provide.
