The Mary Ward Centre’s Outreach team, which delivers classes in the community to organisations such as community centres, primary schools, older people’s groups and health projects, has collaborated with the British Museum to form part of the Community Preview of ‘Vikings: Life and Legend’, which runs from 6th March - 22nd June 2014.

It is with much sadness that we announce that Peter Del Tufo, a loyal and long standing supporter of the Settlement, passed away last week. He joined the Settlement Board as Treasurer in the 1970s and continued in that position until his retirement as a Trustee just a couple of years ago.

We warmly welcome Sue Craggs to the Mary Ward Centre, who will be taking over the role of Head of Adult and Community Education from Suzanna Jackson (who was recently appointed to the role of Warden of the Settlement).

Art groups in eight community centres across Camden, Islington and Tower Hamlets have been busy since May 2013 designing and creating a 3D mountain of artwork inspired by symbolism of pre-Colombian Gold, which is explored in the British Museum’s ‘Beyond El Dorado; Power and Gold in Ancient Colombia’ Exhibition which runs from the 17th - 25th October. The mountain stands at around right foot tall in the Great Court at the British Museum.Next page
