Art groups in eight community centres across Camden, Islington and Tower Hamlets have been busy since May 2013 designing and creating a 3D mountain of artwork inspired by symbolism of pre-Colombian Gold, which is explored in the British Museum’s ‘Beyond El Dorado; Power and Gold in Ancient Colombia’ Exhibition which runs from the 17th - 25th October. The mountain stands at around right foot tall in the Great Court at the British Museum.

It might have poured with rain this weekend, but the Mary Ward Centre's marquee was a hub of activity at the Bloomsbury Festival. Festival-goers joined in clay relief, wirework jewellery, portrait drawing, metal foil embossing, salsa, singing, yoga and paper-jewellery making workshops. The weekend followed a free Tai Chi session which was held on Thursday lunchtime in Queen Square outside the Mary Ward Adult Education Centre, attracting a keen and curious crowd of passers-by who joined some of the more experienced students.
