The Annual Pre-Foundation Exhibition 2017
17 May 2017
May 2nd – May 26th
Presents a range of work by the current
Pre-Foundation students at the Mary Ward Centre.
The course is a full academic year, September to July and the work on show explores the creative process that students have engaged with. Some works are the culmination of experimentation and research, other works are starting points for new approaches and techniques. The exhibition is accompanied by text written by the students.
The Pre-Foundation course has a broad ethos – students follow a variety of Art and Design pathways as they develop a portfolio of work. The students have the opportunity to work with practice specialists: Abigail Downer (coordinator), Linden Abbott, Ben Swift, Zoe Hewett-Dutton.
The accredited course of study supports progression to further/higher courses of study, either at the Mary Ward Centre or elsewhere.
The exhibition extends beyond the café and up both staircases to a display area outside room 32 on the 3rd floor.
Pre-Foundation course details and application for the next academic year will be available at reception or contact the PA for the Creative Arts Department Rahul Miah or Arts Programming Marc Breen.
