What are essential oils and what to look out for when buying essential oils?
How do essential oils interact with the human body?
Facts about smell.
Essential oils safety guidelines.
How to create an aromatic synergy.
Study of a selection of essential oils beneficial to both mind and body.
Create a variety of products using essential oils and other natural ingredients.
Self-help massage techniques for hands to boost circulation and distress.
What students should be able to do by the end of the course?
Learning Objective:
' Be familiar with some of the therapeutic benefits and uses of essential oils.
' Be able to confidently blend essential oils together to create an aromatic and skin safe synergy.
' Be able to make a variety of natural products including a face cream, bath salt and deodorant.
' Be able to use self-help techniques to relax and distress.

Theory teaching methods include:
Lecture / PowerPoint presentation / group work / discussion / questions and answers / self- assessment test.
Practical:
Hands on exercises in blending.
How we assess your progress on the course?
At the start you will be ask to complete a:
Health questionnaire
Throughout the day:
You will receive regular verbal feedback from your tutor as and when appropriate.
At the end:
You will be asked to complete a session summary quiz and course evaluation form.
All course material will be provided.

Additional reading materials will be given for home reading.

Students can enrol on further complementary therapies such as Massage, Aromatherapy, Indian Head massage, Alexander technique, Diet and Nutrition.
Confused about essential oils? This workshop is ideal for anyone wanting to understand what they are, how they work and how to use them safely. This workshop also aims to give you the skills to make some of your own health and beauty products without the use of chemicals to enhance your well-being.
Discover how to give seated massage of the upper back, shoulders, neck and head to relieve stress and tension. Students are fully clothed and will learn practical skills to treat family and friends.
