Steps will be demonstrated by the tutor for learners to follow as a group before working with partners (optional) to perform to music. The tutor will advise you on styling and timing. The emphasis will be on fun.
Comfortable clothing and footwear (ballroom, jazz or other soft dance shoes are ideal, or alternatively trainers / plimsolls) are recommended to allow for free movement.
You may wish to join another class next term or dance socially. Your tutor will advise you of upcoming options.
Develop your skills in your favourite ballroom and Latin American dances such as the Waltz, Tango, Cha Cha Cha and Jive. Aimed at those who have covered the basics, this class will expand your repertoire of steps and develop technique and confidence in a sociable environment.
No partner required for this fun and lively class, dancing solo versions of swing and jive steps to some of the greatest music of the 20th century. From the original 1930's Lindy Hop through the 1950's Rock 'n' Roll to the upbeat 'Strictly'-style Jive, learn the steps and enjoy the music in group dances designed to be performed without a partner.
Enjoy the Latin rhythms of Salsa, Mambo, Cha Cha Cha and Samba without the need for a partner in this Line Dance class with a difference. Each set routine is performed solo in lines but all of the dances will be based on a Latin American dance. This class gives you the best of both worlds with some strict tempo technique but in a free and creative setting.
