This course is ideal for learners who have completed both parts of Making a Start with Your PC part 1 and 2 or have basic digital experience and want to grow their skills in a supportive, practical environment. It is structured across three progressive terms, each building confidence and competence in using digital tools safely and effectively.
What You’ll Learn:
Term 1: Creating and formatting documents, sending emails, and staying safe online.
Term 2: Build on your skills with presentations, video calls, image editing, and online shopping.
Term 3: Consolidate your learning with cloud tools, collaboration, calendars, and managing your digital footprint.
Please ensure your English level is at E3/L1 English/ESOL to join.
This course is practical, supportive, and designed to build your confidence through hands-on learning. You’ll use real devices and everyday tasks to develop your digital skills step by step. Each session is led by a friendly and experienced tutor who will guide you through each activity, helping you make steady progress with both your skills and your confidence. The tutor will also provide clear, easy-to-follow written handouts so you can review what you’ve learned at your own pace.
To get the most out of the course, it's a good idea to practice and complete homework outside the classroom
You’ll be using the computers available in the classroom. Please bring a notepad, a pen, and a folder to keep your handouts organised.
Once you feel confident, you can progress to the Essential Digital Skills Qualification at Entry Level 3, or explore other short courses such as Introduction to File Management, Introduction to AI, or Introduction to Excel. You can also speak to your tutor for guidance on the best next step for you.
