HIIT

  • Who is it for?

    This course is suitable for of all abilities. It is particularly aimed at those who are looking for a more condensed, high impact addition to their overall health and wellbeing regime.
    There are exercise alternatives/options to suit each level.

  • What does it cover?

    Lessons are weekly and start with warm-ups, followed by a series of exercises working through the body to tone and strengthen muscles and joints and build stamina. The sessions incorporate bodyweight exercises and cardio work. The session ends with a cool down.

  • What will it be like?

    Teaching is done through demonstrations & verbal instructions. With designated times for question and answers. Students complete an initial assessment and health check at the beginning and evaluate their learning at the end. You will be encouraged to work towards you own individual goals to monitor your progression. The tutor can help offer support on setting specific, measurable goals.

  • What else do I need to buy or do?

    - Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in and do not restrict movement, particularly the joint areas.
    - Supportive Training shoes (Trainers)
    - Water
    - Own Mat (but these are available)

    Please note, you will not lose weight by taking part in this weekly course on its own. It should be seen as one part of a bigger programme where you take part in other physical activity and consider your diet and nutrition.

  • What could it lead to?

    Once you have completed the course you have access to any of the following information:
    Handout on exercises you can do at home
    Information on similar or further exercise options at MWC and/or out in the community environment, such as outdoor gyms.
