Making A Start With Your Digital Skills 2

  • Who is it for?

    This course is designed for adults with no previous knowledge of using a computer or laptop. It has been designed for those who has completed Making a Start with Your Digital Skills 1.

  • What does it cover?

    This course is designed for students who have completed the first level of this course 'Making a start with your digital skills 1' and are ready to explore further. Whether you're curious about computers or feeling a bit nervous, our friendly tutors will guide you step by step. We'll use everyday language and take a patient approach to help you get started.

    You will learn to:
    ' Identify common input and output devices.
    ' Adjust the brightness and font size to make content easy to read.
    ' Use the start button of Windows 11.
    ' Create strong passwords and spot phishing emails.
    ' Create keywords related to your online search topic.
    ' Sign up for an email account.

  • What will it be like?

    Demonstration using Smartboard through computer-linked projectors, exposition and discussion. One-to-one and Group work. Through tutor-guidance and hands-on experience, the completion of the course objectives. Ongoing monitoring of students' work including questions, observation and tasks. Start and End of class student self-assessment/achievement tick sheet.

  • What else do I need to buy or do?

    You will need to bring a folder to keep the course handouts in order. A4 lined paper and a pen to take notes. It is recommended to have access to a computer and the internet outside the class for practicing and completing homework.

  • What could it lead to?

    If you attend on time to all the lessons you will receive a Certificate of Attendance. At the end of the course, you will decide with your tutor which is the most appropriate next course for you. If you want to continue developing you skills you can go for Building your digital skills 1.
