The mixed media still life course is for all levels of students with an interest in working from direct observation but in a more experimental way than a traditional drawing or painting class.
By attending this course you will: reference both historical and contemporary artworks and observe, record and explore ways to layer, add depth, texture, tone and pattern to your work.
Using collaged papers and a variety of drawing materials which may include graphite, paint, wax, bleach, glue as well as mono-printing. Students will produce artwork from still life displays set up in the classroom.
All basic materials and media will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own paints/brushes and collage paper, plus there are some heavy or textured papers that can be bought in class at cost prices.
Your tutor will be happy to advise on suitable follow-on courses or project ideas for home/studio work.
A project-based workshop providing an opportunity for beginners and more experienced artists to develop their work around themes e.g. working from life or still-life.
This course is designed to provide a comprehensive exploration of watercolour art and its various applications. Delve into traditional and experimental watercolor techniques, encounter a variety of interesting and stimulating subject matter, and receive support from a specialist art tutor.
A mixed level life drawing course using short and long poses, focusing on line, light, colour and composition. Explore the numerous differing influences from ancient far eastern to western mainstream.
Learn the basics of drawing using various media, building your skills and confidence, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
