A one day workshop to gives you a working insight into the theoretical aspects of the digestive and immune systems and how diet and nutrition can help to improve your immunity and maintain your well-being. The course will look at food groups, specific foods and includes practical activities.
Who is this course for
This course is designed for beginners and those with a basic knowledge of Diet and Nutrition.
Student should have a good understanding of spoken and written English (Level 2).

What is digestion?
The five basic food groups - a quick overview.
The importance of proteins and amino acids.
The importance of vitamins and minerals for our health and wellbeing.
The difference between herbs and spices and their importance in maintaining a healthy body.
10 of the healthiest herbs and spices that will enhance your well-being and food .
The science behind superfoods.
By the end of the course students will be able to:
Explain the primary processes of the digestive system.
Discuss the five basic food groups .
Understanding the chemical structure and functions of proteins and amino acids.
Explain the importance of vitamins and minerals for our health and wellbeing.
List the health benefits of a number of herbs and spices.
How to make your own medicinal herbal pouch: Lavender 'Happiness in a bag'.

The course will be run on Zoom, please make sure you have installed it in advance of your first class on your computer or mobile device. You can sign up for free here:
You will need a microphone (it's fine to use whatever is built into your device) and camera, so we can see you via video. You may also want to use headphones during the session.
