Hatha Yoga,Pranayama,Meditation – Online
A Hatha yoga class with static poses and includes some slow flow poses. We work with breathing and meditation techniques and ending with a guided relaxation. Suitable for students with some experience and beginners with good fitness levels. Experience for yourself how yoga can help improve posture, balance, strength and flexibility as well as calm the mind.
Who is this course for
This is a gently invigorating class suitable for all levels: students wishing to be introduced to the practice of yoga and/or those wishing to develop a mindful practice. Learn to cultivate greater body awareness through movement with the breath. Mindful movement allows the body to release tension and can lead to a sense of focus and calm. Holding static postures and doing slow flow sequences, both help build on flexibility and strength. Suitable for beginners who want to deepen their practice and more experienced practitioners.
Students should have a good level of fitness to do this course. if in doubt, please seek medical advice be-fore enrolling on the course.
What does this course cover
The class will start with a short body scan and you will learn various breathing techniques. This aids mindfulness and brings a sense of calm and focus to enable the body to move effectively. You will learn limbering exercises to warm up the body and find out why it helps to avoid injury. We will then do a gently invigorating sequence of postures which will include some static poses and some slow flow poses. These sequences aim to build on flexibility and strength. The class will end with a 10 minute guided re-laxation and you will learn why it is as important as the movement exercises.
What will it be like
The Zoom session will open 15 mins before class starts. and the class will start promptly at the time advertised. Please don't be late as it is more difficult to monitor online to 'let in' who is arriving late. The tutor will demonstrate exercises as well as giving instructions and verbal cues. Progress will be monitored visually as much as is possible online and verbal feedback will given. You must have your vid-eo/audio turned on so the tutor can see what you are doing. Please inform the tutor each week of any possibly injuries or issues that might affect the practise. Please make yourself aware of the chat button (there is a session chat or private chat option) on Zoom so you can message the tutor if you don't want to discuss it in front of the whole class.
You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. In the middle and at the end of the course you and your tutor will assess the progress you have made.
