Intro To Microsoft Office

This course is ideal for those who are new to Microsoft Office applications and require an overview of key features. Take a tour and try out the 3 main programmes: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You will need to be comfortable with using a Windows PC, opening and closing applications, browsing the web and working with a keyboard and mouse.

Who is this course for

The course is suitable for student who have some IT knowledge and experience and are comfortable with using a Windows PC, opening and closing applications, browsing the web and working with a keyboard and mouse

What does this course cover

The course covers gaining familiarity with the Microsoft Office interface: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The aim of the day is for students to gain understanding in what each application is used for

By the end of day you should have
- Gain hands on experience of using MS Office
- Be able to create and save your first files
- Create some basic spreadsheet formulas
- Run a PowerPoint slideshow

What will it be like

Teaching will be approached in various conventions to suit a variety of students which you will be able to assess your learning comfortably. i.e Observation, discussion and practical

Teaching methods: Visual demonstration and verbal explanation. Written handouts with visual diagrams. One-to-one teaching. Group discussions

Learning methods: Hands-on practical activities, Reading handouts and following instructions.
One-to-one and group discussion.

How students are assessed: Questions and answers during group discussions and one-to-one teaching.

Record of students' progress and achievement on an assessment sheet as they achieve the course objectives. Practical work produced is evidence of learning.

Upon completion of day course to take materials home and repeat for practice purposes
