Low Impact Zumba
This course is for those who want a gentler version of Zumba.
Who is this course for
Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music and
dance movements, creating a dynamic, exhilarating and effective fitness system.
It contains gentle movements that increase joint flexibility and increase muscle strength.
Zumba's dance movements are easy-to-follow and target areas such as legs, arms, core and abdominals.Even though Low Impact Zumba is easier on your body, the exercises will
still burn calories. Burning calories plays a major role in maintaining a healthy weight and heart.
Low Impact Zumba is easy to follow and you do not need any previous knowledge and experience. Low Impact Zumba offers a good way to begin an exercise program and is suitable for seniors and
people who are looking for a new way to maintain or improve their fitness levels.It
helps you remain active, it decreases stress levels and makes you feel more energetic and happy.
Zumba is for everybody who loves up-tempo music.
What does this course cover
Each session begins with a short 'warm-up' routine, and continues with learning basic Zumba steps.
The steps and short routines will continue for a few weeks to ensure that a considerable amount of
time is spent making sure all are familiar with the steps and routines. New routines and steps will
be gradually introduced.
1. Improved fitness and stamina
2. Build positive self-image and nurtures a high level of 'feeling good'.
3. Know and be able to repeat some basic routines and steps
4. Increasing joint flexibility and muscle strength
What will it be like
The tutor will lead the group in the demonstrating and learning of the dance styles of Zumba but there will be some opportunity for the students to work as a group to go over some of the Zumba routines at the end of the course.
Students will be informally and verbally assessed on their progress and demonstration of the routines.
Progress will be monitored though ability to remember steps and routines and by being able to keep up with the class. Students will be given a certificate of progress at the end of the 12 weeks.
What else do you need to buy or do
Students will be required to bring comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear such as trainers.
Students will be encouraged to practise routines out of lessons.
What this course could lead to
Students can progress to more Zumba for beginners and Zumba for improvers. Some students may wish to gain more experience by learning a particular Zumba style in more depth.
