New: From Ipad To Instagram – ONLINE
Learn how to share your images from an iPad to the social media platform Instagram. Build your photography profile online by making best use of hashtags to connect with followers. Whether you are interested in marketing your images or just want to build a profile for fun this course will get you started.
The course will be run via Zoom, please make sure you have installed in in advance of your first class. Classes will involve some self-study and information being sent to you via email or Moodle.

Who is this course for
You are interested in learning how to build an online presence using Instagram and make the most of your iPad to help you to do it. You will want to develop your photo editing and use of Instagram filters as well as understand how to share and connect with followers online. If you are not confident with creating a social media platform on Instagram this course will get your started.
What does this course cover
The course explores reasons and motivation for using Instagram as the right social media platform for your photographs. You will learn the step-by-step skills of sharing your photos online and how to use filters and edit images. By understanding the use of hashtags you will connect with followers and build your profile online.
By the end of the course, you should be able to:
Understand how to use the iPad Photos app and how to integrate it with Instagram for sharing images online.
Understand how to prepare images using filters and editing tools
Make use of targeted hashtags in a way that builds your online following
Connect with others and grow your Instagram portfolio with confidence
What will it be like
This is a practical course with activities that will show you how to transfer photographs from iPad to your Instagram portfolio. You will be supported with a weekly handout that will help
you to practice between classes and continue with after the course. Each week, help and guidance will be provided to answer technical questions that arise as you try out your new skills. You will also share and discuss your Instagram photographs in class and learn through seeing how others in the group are progressing online.
What else do you need to buy or do
You will need your own iPad (or iPhone) and have created an Instagram account. You should expect to complete short assignments and practice your photography for a couple of hours during the week between classes.

You will need a microphone (its fine to use whatever is built into your device) and camera, so we can see you via video. You may also want to use headphones during the session.
You can participate in class sessions through the use of a computer, laptop, tablet or other similar internet enabled device. Please note that if you only have access to a smartphone, you will be able to attend the class sessions and participate in them but you will find it more difficult to benefit from the full range of materials and activities involved in the course if this is your only means of connection.
Make sure you have a small space to work in during the session and that as far as possible that you can keep this space quiet and clear of interruption so that you can concentrate on what is happening in the class.
By signing up to the course you are consenting to being on camera. The content of the lesson may occasionally be recorded by the tutor for internal education and training purposes but any such recordings will not be made available to anyone outside of the Mary Ward Centre organisation without us asking you again for further permission to do so.
What this course could lead to
Your Instagram profile can provide you a lot of enjoyment in connecting with others but it also maybe the start of online marketing for your images. You may wish to develop your camera skills further through other photography classes such as the DLSR Introduction or Intermediate course or move on to the Digital Saturdays course where you will develop a photography portfolio or project.
