NEW: Managing Internal Stress – Intro To CBT/REBT – Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy

The course will be run via Zoom, please make sure you have it installed in advance of your first class. This course is for you if you worry a lot and want to calm down all that inner noise! We will focus on recognising three of the ten most common thinking traps that cause us to be anxious. The day will be interactive in nature, and introduce you to skills from CBT/REBT (an action-oriented Psychotherapy) that you can take away and use immediately. There will be exercises to illustrate a means of dealing with anxious arousal and anxious apprehension. And we will use the ABC tool of problem thinking for managing anxiety.

Course for people seeking self-development and to understand their own anxiety. No previous knowledge is required. It is for anyone seeking to understanding anxiety and how it may affect them. Course is also useful for therapists, coaches, hospital workers, teachers, CAMS workers seeking to increase their therapy tools and techniques and bring more skills into their workplace.

What does this course cover

The aim is to recognise the symptoms of stress in ourselves. To explore how we stress ourselves using internal dialogue. To illustrate a means of dealing with anxious apprehension which leads to anxious arousal, using the ABC of problem thinking.
By the end of the course you should be able to :
Identify three of the ten most common thinking traps humans engage in Know at least four ways to calm fears. Recognise how we disturb ourselves with our thinking habits and the effect this has upon our bodies. Realise that there may be better ways of dealing with anxiety and have tools to aid us.

What will it be like

Experiential: Participants work with their own work or life situations. Whole class teaching, small group activities, practical exercises and discussion topics. You will be encouraged to apply the skills learned on this course to your work and life situations.

Notebook and pen would be useful.
To integrate the new strategies into your everyday life and communication and engaging with others.
