Photography On An Ipad

Tablet devices like the iPad enable us to make, edit and share photographs more easily and this course will lead you through the process step by step. We'll start by learning about the iPad as a camera, go on to setting image exposure under different lighting set ups and explore how to see and compose photographs. Then working on a creative project you will make a series of images which at the end of the day you will have edited and presented from the iPad as a slideshow.

Who is this course for

Photography on an iPad is a short practical course for anyone looking to learn about the iPad as a 'one stop shop' to make, edit and share photographs. Even if you are already using a tablet for photography you will find this course useful to think creatively about composition using light and colour, shape and texture and to understand how to create a photographic project on the iPad.

What does this course cover

You will learn about the iPad camera and the apps you need for making photographs. You will be guided on how to set focus, control exposure, colour and refine composition. Once confident you will then work on a creative project where you will photograph and edit the images into a slideshow to present at the end of the class.
By the end of the course you should be able to:
1. Understand how to confidently photograph using the iPad camera app
2. Understand correct image exposure and how to get this right with different lighting
3. Understand how to crop and edit to a finalised image in the Photos app
4. Create a photography project from an edited selection of images and display it on the iPad
The course will take you step by step through the operation of the iPad both as a camera and for image editing. There will be visual demonstration and verbal explanation and a brief handout you can keep after the course. Practical tuition for the group will be assisted with one on one help where needed. At the end of the day there will be a chance for a group review and discussion of the photographs.
