  • Course Overview

This course is ideal for learners who have completedboth parts of Making a Start with Your PCpart 2 or have basic digital experience and want to grow their skills in a supportive, practical environment. It is structured across three progressive terms, each building confidence and competence in using digital tools safely and effectively.

    What You’ll Learn:

Term 1: Creating and formatting documents, sending emails, and staying safe online.

Term 2: Build on your skills with presentations, video calls, image editing, and online shopping.

Term 3: Consolidate your learning with cloud tools, collaboration, calendars, and managing your digital footprint.

Please ensure your English level is at E3/L1 English/ESOL to join.

  • What will it be like?

This course is practical, supportive, and designed to build your confidence through hands-on learning. You’ll use real devices and everyday tasks to develop your digital skills step by step. Each session is led by a friendly and experienced tutor who will guide you through each activity, helping you make steady progress with both your skills and your confidence. The tutor will also provide clear, easy-to-follow written handouts so you can review what you’ve learned at your own pace.

To get the most out of the course, it's a good idea to practice and complete homework outside the classroom

  • What else do I need to buy or do?

You will use the computers provided in the classroom. Please bring a notepad, a pen, and a folder so you can keep your handouts safe and organised.

You do not need to have your own computer at home. You can practise using the free computers at the Centre, or you can use computers at your local library in London.

  • What could it lead to?

Your tutor will give you guidance on the best next step for you.

When you are ready, your tutor may put your name forward for the Essential Digital Skills Qualification at Entry Level 3. They may also suggest other short courses, such as Introduction to AI or Excel courses, depending on your interests and progress.
