This is a fun, welcoming and explorative class in which you will have the freedom to investigate and develop ideas. Use scrap, found, traditional and alternative materials to explore sculptural methods and concepts. This course encourages you to enjoy using materials and the process of 'making', so ideal for beginners or students with more experience.
Get creative with this enjoyable, experimental and imaginative sculpture course where you will learn a broad range of techniques to realise your project. Work with Ceramics, Wirework, Metal, Wood and Found Objects. Work independently or follow set projects. Whether a beginner or experienced come and enjoy the process of making.
Choose to work on a full figure or portrait in terracotta, direct plaster or other processes
Work from the model and concentrate on a portrait head or full figure sculpture. You will be able to learn all processes to complete two pieces per term including preparation for firing and finishing techniques.
Suitable for any level of experience. Explore a range of materials and techniques through which to develop ideas.
Explore a wide range of traditional and less conventional techniques and materials. The course aims to promote a multi-media approach with an opportunity to explore many different materials and concepts of sculpture. There is an opportunity to experiment with constructions in paper, card, wood and paper-mache, and to model in clay or wax.
