This course is for musicians to work together towards performance standard. Open to violin, viola, cello and double-bass players, working in independent groups of four or more, one player to a part, with coaching from experienced tutors. You may join one or both of the sessions. In Session 2, one of the groups is a larger string orchestra, which works with a conductor. Please attend the first class of term to be grouped appropriately.

Invent, create, play! This course will allow you to explore sound as an art form using instruments, found objects, voice, recordings and technology. The emphasis will be on exploration and experimentation. You will also learn about the history, key artists and movements associated with sound as an art form. Each term focuses on a different aspect, leading to an individual project and the opportunity to take part in a public event or exhibition.
Ideal for those who have previously taken the beginners course, or have some experience. Learn more advanced techniques (e.g. finger-picking), as well as trickier chords and melody playing.
