Community Outreach

The jewel in our crown

Working in partnership with a diverse range of voluntary and community groups this creative and innovative programme helps us ensure we engage with people from all parts of our community, bringing the learning to them. Our aim is to reduce barriers to learning and celebrate community achievements.

Our Model

Our offsite community classes are tailored to suit the needs of each individual group or organisation in collaboration with our network of community partners. Our model is one of true partnership and co-design. Our dedicated and experienced outreach team will work with you to design bespoke tasters, workshops or short courses for your group. We will support your members and groups to take their first steps, discover their strengths and increase their confidence.

Who's it for?

Outreach courses are aimed at those who have little or no experience of learning, where confidence is likely to be low and for those who are facing other issues which affect their lives in general. Most courses are delivered at our partners’ premises, in familiar surroundings where the groups feel comfortable. So, the use of your space and your commitment to the partnership is all we ask you to contribute.

What to expect

Outreach courses are free to your organisation and your users. Essentially, we bring the learning to you which is supported by our administrative processes and quality assurance. In our last two Ofsted reports outreach was acknowledged as outstanding.
Our experienced teachers will adapt their teaching to meet the needs of your groups. They are skilled in recognising what achievement might mean for different people, be that just being able to turn up, being able to work well in a group or mastering a new skill or activity.

If your group is interested in working in partnership with us please contact Maddy Fisk maddy.fisk@marywardcentre.ac.uk
