This course builds on Making a start with your PC- Part 1 and introduces key digital skills for everyday life. You’ll learn how to open a browser, use a search engine, and find useful information online. You’ll also practise writing and sending simple emails, completing online forms, and understanding how to stay safe and protect your personal information. This course is ideal for learners who want to become more independent and confident online.
Friendly, hands-on, and supportive. You’ll work in small groups with lots of guided practice and one-to-one help. There are no tests—just a relaxed environment to build your confidence. The tutor will also provide clear, easy-to-follow written handouts so you can review what you’ve learned at your own pace.
You will use the computers provided in the classroom. Please bring a notepad, a pen, and a folder so you can keep your handouts safe and organised.
You do not need to have your own computer at home. You can practise using the free computers at the Centre, or you can use computers at your local library in London.
Your tutor will give you guidance on the best next step for you.
If you are ready, your tutor may recommend that you move on to the next course: Building Your Digital Skills.
If you need more time, your tutor may recommend that you stay at this level for longer, within a limited time.
