Have you ever used a really nice commercial pattern, but it doesn’t fit you very well?
This course is designed for you - makers who want to confidently correct fit issues in commercial patterns and refine garments to suit real bodies.
This course is ideal for learners with no, or basic, pattern cutting skills and have a good understanding of clothes making. It teaches you how to identify common fit problems, understand why they occur, and apply accurate pattern alterations to resolve them. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to diagnose issues, choose the correct alteration method, and adapt patterns with accuracy and intention.
The course will be practical all the way through, where learners will be looking and working on the stand following class exercises. There will be an opportunity to bring your own pattern that needs adjustment, analyse its fit and correct it. You will use sewing machines to make toiles.
You need to bring your own pencil, pen and notebook- you will need to bring in your pattern or garment that does fit.
You will need to buy calico for toiling; a tracing wheel; drill holer a pattern master or set square.
You can do Introduction to pattern cutting , sewing for improvers or Pattern cutting alterations ( tops)
